Dangerous Goods Group D – Cabin Crew: eLearning is specifically designed for Cabin Crew (as listed in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations Table 1.5.A). This eLearning course equips participants with essential knowledge of dangerous goods, their potential hazards, and the procedures required for safe air transport.

The Dangerous Goods Group D – Cabin Crew: eLearning is a self-paced training program that includes interactive course materials, online assessments, and guidance from qualified instructors. Learners need a device with a camera and a microphone to complete all forms and assessments digitally. The platform is user-friendly and provides real-time feedback to track progress effectively.

Upon successful completion, participants receive a SACAA-accredited Certificate of Competency, valid for 24 months. To maintain compliance, refresher courses should be booked at least 30 days before the certificate expires.

Dangerous Goods Group D – Cabin Crew: eLearning is a SACAA-accredited course designed for cabin crew personnel who need to demonstrate competence in handling and identifying dangerous goods during air transport. This self-paced online training helps cabin crew understand how to recognize, manage, and respond to dangerous goods safely and confidently. It ensures compliance with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) and international aviation safety standards.

According to Subsection 1.5 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, all personnel must be competent and properly trained before performing duties involving dangerous goods. This course provides the essential knowledge, assessments, and certification required to meet those global standards.

Through interactive modules and guided assessments, learners gain practical understanding, apply procedures effectively, and stay compliant with both SACAA and ICAO requirements.

After completing Dangerous Goods Group D – Cabin Crew: eLearning, participants will be able to:

 

  • Identify and recognize different classes of dangerous goods.
  • Understand the purpose and structure of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • Interpret and apply hazard labels and handling symbols.
  • Recognize compliant packaging types and detect hidden hazards in baggage or cargo.
  • Apply correct procedures for dangerous goods in passenger and crew baggage.
  • Follow emergency response actions in case of a dangerous goods incident.
  • Upon successful completion, learners receive a SACAA-accredited Certificate of Competency, valid for 24 months.
  • This training complies with Part 92 – Conveyance of Dangerous Goods of the South African Civil Aviation Regulations (CAA/DG/0031).
